A workbench may be one of the most important pieces of furniture you'll build for your workshop. Of course, this may be old news to you, especially if you've ever tried to piece together a wood project on a makeshift table, box, or a couple of chairs (yikes!). The good news is that basic structure of a bench is simple enough that you can usually design your own - once you understand how the basic joinery and construction works. The workbench planner I've put together here makes it easy to build a simple bench -- easy enough for anyone who has a couple power tools and a way to get some 2x4s home from the store.
